Fall slump? Need some motivation? Want some accountability?

Well we've got news for you...old is new with our Kennebec Valley Coaching Throwback Partner Challenge starting Monday, October 24th. This challenge will continue through Sunday, November 27th. We'll take a day or two off for Thanksgiving, and then hop right back on the retro fitness train. 

Each week of the challenge will focus on a different decade, including 3 at home workouts and a healthy nutrition challenge reflective of the time period. Lots of KVC classes and playlists will coordinate with the decade of the week, too. Each week, time era appropriate bonus prizes will be awarded for themed homemade videos.

This challenge will be conducted in a private Facebook group. At the beginning of the challenge, you'll receive a PDF file that outlines the entire program. Each weekly decade will include two, illustrated, at-home workouts (just like Merry Coremas), a few YouTube workout links, your nutrition challenge, instructions for the optional video challenge, and the associated prize. We will encourage each other, share progress, and share ideas in the Facebook group. You and your partner will track your progress in a Google Doc. This workout can be done completely from home with very little equipment -- a set of dumbbells will just about do it.

We will cover the 1970s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s. What will a typical week look like? Well the 1970s were all about jogging, bodybuilding, jump roping, the rise of aerobics, diet pills (no way!), and excessive calorie restriction (no thank you!). Since we're not willing to do either of those 1970s diet trends, we'll modernize things a bit by tracking our food intake in an app like Lose It or My Fitness Pal. Your at home workouts will include a piece of each of those exercise styles, and be totally adaptable to your ability level. Can't jump rope? That's okay, you'll chose something else from the instruction sheet that you CAN do. You'll also have the option to swap in one of three YouTube videos as your workout. You and your partner will earn points each week for workouts completed, and have the chance to earn mega bonus points by producing era-appropriate videos. 

Dust off your hula hoops, and your aerobic steps, and your jump ropes, and your grapefruit, and your kickboxing sweatbands, and your raquetballls....you get the idea....

This challenge is all about mixing things up and having fun with all kinds of exercise. This is perfect for runners in the off season, people who have lost their spark, anyone who would like to lose a few pounds before the holidays, any person who'd like to laugh and have fun, people who need ideas, people who need encouragement, and anyone who is motivated by a group. The workouts are super diverse and super effective. You'll be surprised by what's hard and what comes easily.

This challenge is $44 per participant through Wednesday, October 19th, then $49 through Sunday, October 23rd. If you have a partner in mind, great! If you'd like to be paired up with a partner, just talk to Amy.
